35th Class Reunion Pictures and Update
By May 1st, names and captions will be added to the following photos, but in the meantime you can enjoy trying to guess who they are.  Remember, a few of the folks are spouses so if you find yourself saying, “I have no idea who that guy is with Weigie”….it might be her husband!

The Reunion
The Reunion was a huge success.  The Planning Committee did a great job and it was fun to be back in the old Knights of Columbus Hall, the site of so many previous wedding receptions and other reunions.

As you will see in the pictures, everyone had a good time.  We had dancing, music and Joe Ruzick and his son and daughter-in-law prepared and served the best buffet anyone could have asked for…and as you will see by the pictures, I’ve become pretty familiar with buffets!

Web Page Supporters
We want to thank several folks for their support of the web page site.  You too can sponsor a month on the web with a mere $20 contribution.  Just give me a call and I’ll happily take your money.  In the meantime, special thanks to Walter Chessman, Chris Blake, Weigie Pomianowski Edwards, Judy Carter Lyons, Mike Bailey, Bev McCarty Mowat, Debbie Miller Shirley, Joe and Terri Ramelmeyer Baldasare and Darlene Brown Vandemark for their support of the Web page.  We hope to keep it up and running until the 40th Reunion in 2007.  If I missed anyone on that list, email me as we want to make sure it’s correct – I’m thinking I missed someone.

Recent Passing
On a sadder note, friend and classmate John Molnar passed away in March after a long but heroic struggle with cancer.  Several folks were able to talk with him over the past few months and he thought of us and wished he could have attended the reunion.  We sent some photos to him afterwards which I’m sure he enjoyed.

Notes from Away
Prior to the reunion, we received letters and updates from Anne Kessler in California and Tim Snyder in Florida, and emails from Marilyn Bright Parrish.  The night before the reunion, most of us got a chance to talk with Eddie Insley in Florida who is recuperating from some heart problems.  He sounded just like Eddie and we made him promise to make the 40th.

Awards and Highlights
We wish more of the Dayton classmates had attended and we’ll work on them for next time.  We had classmates from all over Ohio, but we really want to thank those who traveled so far to share in the event:   Bev McCarty from California, Dan Lohrey from Washington, Jim Kerr from Alabama, Jeff Garrett from Tennessee, Billy Edwards and Stan Campbell from Kentucky, Chuck Opfer from Virginia, Scott Herron from Georgia, and Bill Wintersteen and Jim Kalbfleisch from Texas.  I hope I didn’t miss anyone.

Dan Lohrey won the prize for traveling the fartherest (Bev thought she had a lock on this until geography did her in).

Steve Barney won the prize for longest marriage.  He and his lovely wife eloped 35 years ago before we graduated.  Something I didn’t know was that his marriage certificate indicates Ed Insley as his best man and Joe Baldasare as his maid of honor!  Hmmmm.

Who Changed the Most?  Least?
Surprisingly, I think, you would recognize almost everyone the second you saw them.  Oh, we’ve added wrinkles or changed our hair color or gone gray (Brian Schwieterman!) or put on some (or a lot) of pounds (me), but all in all I’d think you’d recognize most.  However there were a few that absolutely had not changed…at all…Vicki Morris Royer, Mark Dues, Deb Hall, Bill Wintersteen, Mike Robinson, Joe Cashman, Gerry Ewing, and Pat Mallory looked exactly the same.  Well, actually, Mallory looked a bit better.

For me, those who had changed the most?  Probably Mary Strange would be right up there – same sweet smile but going blond made a big change.  Brian Schwieterman’s beautiful silver hair and beard kind of fooled me until he smiled. Other than those two….I think we all turned out pretty good!

Staying in Touch
Please contact me if you have any questions about the pictures.  We will be redoing the web page a little between now and May 1st and we hope you will drop by once a month to catch up on any and all news we receive.

Please, please send me any change in your address, phone, etc.  If you want to add news (new grandbaby, new job, retired….) just give me a call or email me.  My email is:  brown.d@RhodesState.edu and my phone is 419-995-8312.

Take care dear friends.
